Since 1890
Tradition
Today, Christophe Meyer leads the company in the tradition of five generations of family craftsmanship — together with his sons Severin and Lorenz.
The roots of our company reach back to 1890 — a long tradition in the working of hardwoods, carried by experience, craftsmanship, and an eye for the essential.

Ernst Blasius and Wilhelmine Meyer
In 1890 Ernst Blasius Meyer and his wife Wilhelmine lay the foundations — registered as Ernst & Wilhelmine Meyer OHG, run jointly from the very first day. They start as a cooperage for oak barrels, expand the workshop into a sawmill and grow the business with each decade. What takes shape here is the foundation of everything that follows: experience with the material, craftsmanship, an eye for the essential.

Across generations, knowledge of fine timbers is passed on and refined. The picture shows Ernst Meyer Sr. (son of Ernst Blasius) at the sawmill — a time when every board still passed through hands one by one and the eye decided what would later become a good floor.

Christophe's father Ernst Meyer Jr. leads the family business from 1972 to 2010. Over nearly four decades, the traditional sawmill grows step by step into a modern wood operation. The deepened knowledge of oak and oak floors from this period becomes the foundation of what Christophe will later carry forward in his own hand.

Christophe Meyer
In 1998, Christophe built his own business on the roots of five generations of family craftsmanship — with a clear vision of his own. The focus turns to what he holds particularly close to his heart: exceptional floors of European oak — carefully selected, precisely worked and masterfully refined.
As half-Frenchman, Christophe brings not only a fine sense for material and craftsmanship, but also numerous design impulses that shape our collections. Because the true difference often shows itself in the detail: in the love for the product, in the quality of the surface, in the consistency of every single processing step.
In close dialogue with architects, planners and clients around the world, floors with character emerge — a collection that today is appreciated across Europe, the United States, and beyond.

Severin and Lorenz
Severin runs production, Lorenz looks after our export clients — the next generation has been with the company for a few years now, and Christophe accompanies them on their path. What our family has shaped over generations, they carry forward: respect for the material, the patience of craftsmanship, the promise that every floor endures — in expression, substance and value.
From nature.
With character.
For generations.
